STRENGTH IN COMMUNITY
Slowly, thoughtfully, wonderfully, and with love from the community this little ice cream world grew.
Ashley and Greg endeavored for the Hop to directly or indirectly be involved in the many special things happening around town. They supported causes dear to them and created scholarships for students of their Alma Mater. There was a positive energy in collaborating, giving, and being present in the scene, and the more love they gave the more love they were shown.
This connection to the local community also allowed the Hop to expand into various events around town. Greg was approached in 2010 by Ellie Wells of the Folk Heritage Committee with the idea to be part of Shindig on the Green (a local mountain tradition since 1967).
It was a tremendous success – selling out of ice cream in the first 30 minutes.
As the business began to blossom, and add additional responsibilities (like running the then novel social media) Greg decided to hang up his coaching boots to focus on ice cream full time.
