The Hop becomes part of Black Mountain & Downtown Asheville.
The Garrisons & McDougalds in front of the Black Mountain location on Cherry St
In 2018 the small candy shop, “Sweet on Cherry Street” in downtown Black Mountain (which had been serving The Hop’s ice cream) decided to sell. The owners came to the Garrisons first. It was a perfect opportunity to expand. With the immense help from Hopsters, Gretchen, Tim, and Raleigh, The Black Mountain location opened in December of that same year.
And in 2020, with the world in lockdown, another amazing opportunity presented itself – to be part of the new S&W Market, a food hall of all local, small businesses located right in the heart of Downtown Asheville. The new location opened its doors June 16th, 2021.
