Tamarind Date Ginger

In collaboration with Botiwalla, a new Indian Street Food Restaurant coming soon to 697 Haywood Rd, Tamarind Date Ginger Ice Cream hits the menu exclusively at The Hop West at 721 Haywood Rd Friday, August 11th (today)!!! Inspired by Botiwalla’s Tamarind Chutney, this flavor has sweet & savory magic thanks to a base of Spicewalla Chaat Masala, jaggery (Indian cane sugar), and Rayburn Farms ginger that is mixed with pieces of Deglet Noor dates.

Botiwalla, part of the Chai Pani Restaurant Group, is an homage to the tea and kabab houses (known as Irani cafes) of Chef Meherwan Irani's childhood, as well as the grills (sigris) that pop up on the streets of India late at night, serving grilled meats and flatbreads to hungry revelers.

Ashley and I had the honor of working directly with Chef Meherwan Irani to create this flavor, which we all hope you enjoy. Also, stay tuned for more details about Botiwalla and its Grand Opening in West Asheville!
