The Hop’s Ice Cream is better than ever!
In our ongoing effort to provide the most delicious sweet treats we are able, we recently made a big change to our ice cream mix. We researched, we sampled, and ultimately we began a partnership with Meadowvale, an employee-owned ice cream mix manufacturer out of Sandwich, IL.
The new mix contains 16% butterfat Cream, Milk, Cane Sugar, Skim Milk, Nonfat Dry Milk, and 2% or less of Locust Bean Gum & Guar Gum (no eggs). The mix is non-GMO and made with prairie-raised, grade A certified, hormone-free milk from farmer-owned Prairie Farms Dairy.
“It’s a dramatic improvement, one you can taste immediately with your first lick,” says Greg Garrison, The Hop co-owner. “The quality of Meadowvale’s mix with its cleaner ingredients, their customer service, and vision as an SQF-certified ESOP company made this an easy decision,” Greg adds.
This massive upgrade follows a similar one to our from-scratch vegan ice cream recently made by co-owner and head creator, Ashley Garrison. Says Ashley, “That means the quality of our ice cream, for which The Hop has been known for over 40 years, is better than ever. If you are a regular, newcomer, or haven’t tasted our ice cream in a while, we recommend you give it a try!”
